List every fixed fee
Include the monthly plan, annual commitment, implementation, onboarding, theme work, 3D model creation, extra stores, extra products, and support tier.
Model usage fees
For each vendor, calculate fees at your low, expected, and high monthly order volume. Separate per-item charges from percentage-of-revenue fees and minimum charges.
Value staff time saved
Estimate minutes saved on proofs, artwork edits, file naming, customer email, manual pricing, and order re-entry. Multiply by loaded labor cost, not only hourly wage.
Measure conversion impact
Track product-page conversion, completed customization, add-to-cart, checkout, refund, and remake rates before and after the personalizer.
Score production readiness
A preview is not enough if staff must rebuild every file. Test size, bleed, fonts, layers, color, cut paths, white ink, naming, and batch download on real orders.
Check platform and data fit
Confirm Shopify, non-Shopify embeds, customer accounts, order metadata, webhooks, file retention, privacy, and export access.
Run the break-even test
Break-even orders = net monthly tool cost ÷ contribution profit added or labor saved per order. Use conservative assumptions and test sensitivity.
Pilot with one product family
Launch a small catalog, compare support and production metrics, then expand only after the workflow proves reliable.
